The company I worked for had about a dozen manual machines and several CNC models as well. They are (in my opinion) better machines than Bridgeport's. They are heavier built and (again in my opinion) easier to operate. Most all have a power X and Y feed, with the power Z feed being optional. My first choice for a vertical mill was a Tree 2UVR.

It sounds like you also have the Quick Click collet system which is pretty nice. The only disadvantage is the maximum shank size which is 3/4".

The Tree 2UVRC is the heavier duty casting and pedestal of the 2UVR. The C knee is a big box way, as opposed to the 2UVR dovetailed ways. The heads are the same, I think the 2MH. Do you have any pics of the machine? If the servos, amps, and control still work fine, you may be better off keeping them intact, or at least upgrading the control.
